Back Alley

1985  – 19×26 in. – oil on paper – Private Collection

The late afternoon light brought out some interesting shadows on the snow and the trees.  Bank Alley, behind my house, used to have a “country in the city” feel to it — unpaved, with thick woods to the left and large trees in the yards.  Now paved and the woods gone, the alley has a different feel – but that is not necessarily a criticism of the denser development in the area – just a note about the change.
