Small branches and twigs of dense trees form a lake-like pattern with wet snow. I found a location on Union Avenue with a particularly lacy tree in front of a dark facade. I did two versions – one in color (see next page) and one in black and white. The strong lines of the two lower limbs mimic the opposite angles of the roof line and they contain the lace.
